Ghazal 95

مدامم مست می‌دارد نسیمِ جَعدِ گیسویت

خرابم می‌کند هر دَم، فریبِ چشمِ جادویت

پس از چندین شکیبایی شبی یا رب توان دیدن

که شمعِ دیده افروزیم در محرابِ ابرویت

سوادِ لوح بینش را عزیز از بهر آن دارم

که جان را نسخه‌ای باشد ز لوحِ خالِ هندویت

تو گر خواهی که جاویدان جهان یکسر بیارایی

صبا را گو که بردارد زمانی بُرقِع از رویت

و گر رسمِ فنا خواهی که از عالم براندازی

برافشان تا فروریزد هزاران جان ز هر مویت

من و بادِ صبا مِسکین دو سرگردانِ بی‌حاصل

من از افسونِ چشمت مست و او از بویِ گیسویت

زهی همت که حافظ راست از دنیی و از عقبی

نیاید هیچ در چشمش به جز خاکِ سرِ کویت

That Bold One of Pan-face (the true Beloved) who, last night, by me

passed, What sin saw He that, by way of Khita,!, He passed ?

Since from my sight, went that world-seeing eye,— None knoweth what tears from my eye have

passed. Last night, from the passing of the heart's fire, to the candle passed not.

That smoke (sigh) that, to our head, from the liver's consuming passed. (Being) far from His face, momently, from the fountain of my eye, A torrent of tears came

and the deluge of calamity passed. 5.

From our feet, we fell when separation's grief came

In grief, we remained, when from the hand, the remedy (union with Thee) passed.

The heart said: — " With prayer, one can again obtain union with

Him." 'Tis a life-time since my life all in the work of prayer passed.

Wherefore do I bind (put) on the pilgrim-robe (of the true Beloved), for that Kihla is not

here ? In effort, wherefore do I strive since from (mount) Marvah, (mount) Safa hath passed ?

to gar khaahi ke jauidan jahan yakasr biaraii

saba ra gu ke bardard zamani borghe' az ruit

o gar rasm fana khaahi ke az 'alam barandazi

barafshan ta farurizd hazaran jan ze har muit

man o bad saba meskin do saragardane bi-hasl

man az afsune chashamat mast o u az buy gisuit

zhi hemmat ke hafez rast az danii o az 'ghabi

niaid hich dar chashamash be joz khak sar kuit
