Ghazal 89

یا رب سببی ساز که یارم به سلامت

بازآید و بِرهانَدَم از بندِ مَلامت

خاکِ رهِ آن یارِ سفرکرده بیارید

تا چشمِ جهان بین کُنَمَش جایِ اقامت

فریاد که از شش جهتم راه بِبَستند

آن خال و خط و زلف و رخ و عارض و قامت

امروز که در دستِ توام مرحمتی کن

فردا که شَوَم خاک چه سود اشکِ ندامت

ای آن که به تقریر و بیان دم زنی از عشق

ما با تو نداریم سخن، خیر و سلامت

درویش مکن ناله ز شمشیرِ اَحِبّا

کاین طایفه از کشته ستانند غرامت

در خرقه زن آتش که خمِ ابرویِ ساقی

بر می‌شکند گوشهٔ محراب امامت

حاشا که من از جور و جفای تو بنالم

بیدادِ لطیفان همه لطف است و کرامت

کوته نکند بحث سرِ زلف تو حافظ

پیوسته شد این سلسله تا روزِ قیامت

Who, for the sight of the (true) Beloved, opened my eye, that one am I

O work-door, slave -cherisher! what thanks to Thee, shall I utter ?

To the indigent man of calamity, say: — " From dust, wash not thy face

:" For the dust of the street of indigency is the alchemy of thy desire.

O eye! with drops (tears only) one or two that thou scatteredest, O

many the glance and the look that, on the face of fortune, thou castedest.

If with the blood of the liver, purification (in love) the lover (of God) make

not, By the word of the mufti of love, not true is his prayer. 5.

O heart! from the difficulties of the path, turn not the rein

For, of descent and of ascent, reflecteth not the man of the Path.

From the breeze, word-picking (fault-finding) what profit shall I gather ? When,

in this garden, not (even) the straight (upright) cypress is a confidant.

bazayad o berhanadam az band malamt

khak rah an yar safarakarde biarid

ta cheshm jahan bin konamash jay aghamt

faryad ke az shash jahatam rah bebasatand

an khal o khat o zolf o rokh o 'arz o ghamt

emruz ke dar dast tavam marahamti kon

farda ke shavam khak che sud ashk nadamt

ey an ke be taghrir o bian dam zani az 'eshgh

ma ba to nadarim sokhan, khir o salamat

daruish makon nale ze shamshire ahebba

ka'in taife az kashte satanand gharamt

dar kherghe zan atash ke khame abruy saghi

bar mi-shakanad gushe mahrab amamt

hasha ke man az jowr o jafai to banalm

bidade latifan hame lotf ast o karamt

kute nakanad bahas sar zolf to hafez

piuste shod in salasle ta ruz ghiamt
