Ghazal 78

دیدی که یار، جُز سَرِ جور و سِتَم نَداشت

بِشْکَسْت عَهْد، وَز غَمِ ما، هیچ غَم نَداشت

یا رَب مَگیرَش اَرْچِه دِلِ چون کَبوتَرَم

اَفْکَنْد و کُشْت و عِزَّتِ صِیْدِ حَرَم نَداشت

بَر مَن، جَفا زِ بَخْتِ مَن آمَد وَگَرنَه یار

حاشا که رَسْمِ لُطْف و طَریقِ کَرَم نَداشت

با این هَمِه، هَر آن‌که نَه خواری کَشید اَز او

هَر جا که رَفْت، هیچ کَسَش مُحْتَرَم نَداشت

ساقی بیار بادِه و با مُحْتَسِب بِگو

اِنْکارِ ما مَکُن که چُنین جام، جَم نَداشت

هَر راهرو که رَه به حَریمِ دَرَش نَبُرْد

مِسْکین بُرید وادی و رَه دَر حَرَم نَداشت

«حافظ»! بِبَر تو گویِ فِصاحَت که مُدَّعی

هیچش هُنَر نَبود و خَبَر نیز هَم نَداشت

In desire of that I am that, if, forth from my hand, it— come, I

may fix my hand upon a work such that the end of grief may— come.

The plain of vision of the heart is not a place of society of opponents

When the demon goeth out, the angel within may come.

The society of the Ruler is the darkness of night (of winter): Ask light of the sun. Possibly, forth it may come. At the door

of the Lords of the world without manliness, How long (expectant) sittest thou saying: — " In, at the door, when will the "Khwaja come?" 5.

Let go this time more bitter than poison

Again (after thy abandoning), like sugar, time will come. Beggary (seeking the murshid), abandon not.

For thou mayst gain treasure From the (kind) glance of a (holy) traveller, who, into thy sight, may come. Salih and Talah displayed obedience (to God): Let us see to whom acceptance will fall

and, into vision, who will come. r O bulbul lover! ask for life.

For, in the end, Green will become the garden

and into the bosom, the red rose will come. 4. From the Lords of the world void of manliness no profit will come to thee.

Abandon them. 7. The prophet Salih was the son of 'Ubaid, the son of Asaf,

the son of Masikh, the son of 'L'baid. the son of Hadhir, the son of Thamud.

didi ke yar, joz sar jowr o setam nadasht

beshkast ahd, vaz gham ma, hich gham nadasht

ya rab magirash archee del chon kabutaram

afkand o kosht o 'ezzate seyd haram nadasht

bar man, jafa ze bakht man amad vagarnae yar

hasha ke rasm lotf o tarigh karam nadasht

ba in hame, har an-ke na khuari keshid az u

har ja ke raft, hich kasash mohtaram nadasht

saghi biyar bade o ba mohtaseb begu

enkare ma makon ke chenin jam, jam nadasht

har rahru ke rah be harime darash nabord

meskin borid vaadi o rah dar haram nadasht

hafez! bebar to guy fesahat ke modda'i

hichsh honar nabud o khabar niz ham nadasht
