Ghazal 76

جُز آسْتان تواَم در جَهان، پَناهی نیست

سَرِ مَرا به‌جُز این دَر، حَوالِه‌گاهی نیست

عَدو چو تیغ کِشَد، مَن سِپَر بیندازَم

که تیغِ ما، به‌جُز از ناله‌ای و آهی نیست

چِرا زِ کویِ خَرابات روی بَرتابَم؟

کز این بِهَم به جَهان، هیچ رَسْم و راهی نیست

زَمانِه گَر بِزَنَد آتَشَم به خَرْمَنِ عُمْر

بِگو بِسوز که بَر مَن به بَرْگِ کاهی نیست

غُلامِ نَرْگِسِ جَمّاشِ آن سَهی سَرْوَم

که اَز شَرابِ غُرورش به کَس، نِگاهی نیست

مَباش دَر پِیِ آزار و هَرْچِه خواهی کُن

که دَر شَریعَتِ ما، غِیْر اَز این، گُناهی نیست

عِنان‌کِشیده رُو اِی پادْشاهِ کِشْوَرِ حُسن

که نیست بَر سَرِ راهی که دادخواهی نیست!

چُنین که از همه‌سو، دامِ راه می‌بینَم

بِهْ از حِمایَتِ زُلْفَش، مَرا پَناهی نیست

خَزینِهٔ دِلِ «حافظ» به زُلْف و خال مَدِه!

که کارهایِ چُنین، حَدِّ هَر سیاهی نیست

If power be mine, as to union with Thee, than— that More, from my own

fortune, mine what desire is ? On Thy threshold, what wonder the clamour of lovers!

For, wherever is the sugar-place (Thy place), the fly (the lover)— is.

Necessity for the sword of slaughter of the lover is what ?

When for half my life (who am Thy lover), a single glance sufficient is. If, in both worlds,

I express a single breath with the (true) Beloved, From both worlds, that breath, my acquisition fs. 5.

With this desire since short is the hand of my fortune Power to (reach to) Thy

lofty cypress mine, how is ? The path of deliverance is where for that drowning one?

From before and behind whom, the torrent of love's labour is ? A thousand times, I became His lover; and, again, He seeth me; and speaketh saying

— " Who is this person ?

" Pleasant is the coloured wine

and the (true) Beloved's society: In this desire, heart-bereft, ever Hafiz jSj

joz astan tavam dar jahan, panahi nist

sar mara be-joz in dar, haualee-gahi nist

'adu cho tigh keshad, man separ bindazam

ke tigh ma, be-joz az nale-ey o ahi nist

chera ze kuy kharabat ruy bartabam?

kaz in beham be jahan, hich rasm o rahi nist

zamanee gar bezanad atasham be kharmane 'omr

begu besuz ke bar man be barge kahi nist

gholam narges jammashe an sahi sarvam

ke az sharab ghorursh be kas, negahi nist

mabash dar peye azar o harchee khaahi kon

ke dar shari'at ma, gheyr az in, gonahi nist

'enan-keshide ru ey padshah keshvare hosn

ke nist bar sar rahi ke dadkhuahi nist!

chenin ke az hame-su, dam rah mi-binam

be az hemayate zolfash, mara panahi nist

khazine-ye del hafez be zolf o khal madee!

ke karhaye chenin, hadde har siahi nist
