Ghazal 61
غزل شمارهٔ ۶۱
7 couplets
صبا اگر گذری اُفتَدَت به کشور دوست
بیار نَفحِهای از گیسوی مُعَنبَر دوست
به جانِ او که به شکرانه جان برافشانم
اگر به سویِ من آری پیامی از برِ دوست
و گر چنان که در آن حضرتت نباشد بار
برایِ دیده بیاور غباری از درِ دوست
منِ گدا و تمنایِ وصلِ او هیهات
مگر به خواب ببینم خیالِ منظرِ دوست
دل صِنوبَریام همچو بید لرزان است
ز حسرتِ قد و بالای چون صنوبرِ دوست
اگر چه دوست به چیزی نمیخرد ما را
به عالمی نفروشیم مویی از سرِ دوست
چه باشد ار شود از بندِ غم دلش آزاد
چو هست حافظِ مسکین غلام و چاکر دوست
O soul! who spake to thee, saying: — "The circumstances of us (lovers) — ask not: " Unknown, wander; the tale (of health) of any friend ask
not ?" (O true Beloved!) on that account that comprehending is Thy compassion; and merciful, Thy nature, A sin not done, pardon; and the past circumstance,— ask not.
Luminous (clear) to thee, thou wishest that the state (of mystery) of love's con- suming may be ? Of the candle (entangled in love), the tale (of love), ask
of the morning-breeze (love untasted), ask not.
Of the darvish-world, no knowledge was his, That one, who with thee spake, saying: — "The darvish, ask not." 5. Of the ragged-clad one of the cloister (the sufl, the hypocrite) the
cash of search (of the state of men of God; of divine knowledge; of truths) seek not: That is, — of the indigent, the matter of alchemy, ask not.
Not read have we the tale of Sikandar and Dara
Save the tale of love and of fidelity, of us a tale, ask not.

agar che dust be chizi nemi-kharad ma ra
be 'almi nafrushim muii az sar dust
che bashad ar shavad az band gham dalash azad
cho hast hafez meskin gholam o chakr dust
