Ghazal 48

صوفی از پرتو مِی رازِ نهانی دانست

گوهرِ هر کس از این لعل، توانی دانست

قدر مجموعهٔ گل، مرغِ سَحَر داند و بس

که نه هر کو ورقی خواند، معانی دانست

عرضه کردم دو جهان بر دلِ کاراُفتاده

به جز از عشقِ تو باقی همه فانی دانست

آن شد اکنون که ز اَبنایِ عَوام اندیشم

مُحتَسِب نیز در این عیشِ نهانی دانست

دل‌بر، آسایش ما مَصلحتِ وقت ندید

ور نه از جانبِ ما دل‌نگرانی دانست

سنگ و گِل را کُنَد از یُمنِ نظر لعل و عقیق

هر که قَدرِ نفسِ بادِ یمانی دانست

ای که از دفترِ عقل، آیت عشق آموزی

ترسم این نکته به تَحقیق ندانی دانست

مِی بیاور که ننازد به گلِ باغِ جهان

هر که غارت‌گریِ بادِ خزانی دانست

حافظ این گوهرِ مَنظوم که از طَبع اَنگیخت

زَ اثرِ تربیتِ آصِفِ ثانی دانست

To thee, the mirror of solitude displayeth the light of God, By the

door of us (the darvishes), enter if the seeker of eternal love, thou be.

Wine give. For, if hell take the name of our sin On its fire,

water dasheth Muhammad's miracle (and guardeth it). Momently, an act of sorcery thou practisest.

Lawful, this is not

Said the messenger of our Lord: — "Never are we trick-players." If, with this grace and grandeur, to the sward thou pass, The lily, and the cypress, and the rose following with thee all go. 5.

Intentionally, in malice against me, wherefore drawest thou the sword of vio- lence? Perchance thou thinkest not of— —"On extended (lofty) columns (of fire)." In time, from the heart's tablet, make clean the picture of self

If, with soul and heart, to the street of wisdom the path thou take.

O Hafiz! entangled in the net of desire is the bird of thy heart

O thou attached to shame! boast not of the solitude (of the holy traveller).

tarasam in nokte be tahghigh nadani danest

mi biaur ke nanazd be gol bagh jahan

har ke ghart-garye bad khazani danest

hafez in gohar manzum ke az tab' angikht

ze asre tarbite asefe sani danest
