Ghazal 460

سُلَیمیٰ مُنذُ حَلَّت بِالْعراقِ

أُلاقی مِن نَواها ما أُلاقی

الا ای ساروان منزل دوست

إِلی رُکبانِکُم طالَ اشْتیاقی

خِرَد در زنده‌رود انداز و می نوش

به گلبانگ جوانان عراقی

رَبیعُ العُمرِ فی مَرعیٰ حِماکُم

حَماکَ اللّهُ یا عَهدَ التَّلاقی

بیا ساقی بده رَطْل گرانم

سَقاکَ اللّهُ مِن کَأسٍ دِهاقِ

جوانی باز می‌آرد به یادم

سماع چنگ و دست افشان ساقی

می باقی بده تا مست و خوشدل

به یاران برفَشانم عمر باقی

درونم خون شد از نادیدن دوست

أَلا تَعْساً لِأیّامِ الفِراقِ

دُموعی بَعدَکُم لا تَحْقِروها

فَکَم بحرٍ عَمیقٍ مِن سَواقِ

دمی با نیکخواهان متفق باش

غنیمت دان امور اتفاقی

بساز ای مطرب خوشخوان خوشگو

به شعر فارسی، صوت عراقی

عروسی بس خوشی ای دختر رَز

ولی گه گه سزاوار طلاقی

مسیحای مجرد را برازد

که با خورشید سازد هم‌وُثاقی

وصال دوستان روزی ما نیست

بخوان حافظ غزل‌های فراقی

Since my Sulaima went to 'Irak. Through love for her, I meet with what I

meet with, — (the pain of separation). Ho! O camel-driver of the friend's litter!

Towards your riders (of the camels of the karvan), great hath become my longing. From not seeing the beloved, blood became my heart

Now evil befall the days of separation!

Into the Zinda stream (of Isfahan), cast thy wisdom

Back to my recollection, youthfulness bring — The sound of the harp and the hand-waiving of the Saki. The remaining

wine, give, so that, intoxicated and happy of heart, My remaining life, I may scatter (as a sacrifice) on friends.

Saki! come; me, the heavy ritl give; God give thee to drink from

a full cup. A moment, with well-wishers, be concordant; Affairs of concord, plunder reckon. 10.

The spring of life is passed in the sward of thy care: O time of union! God protect thee. I. In Arabic, are I—- couplets i, 10, ii, 14, and 15

saghaka allah man kaasen dehaghe

javani baz mi-arad be yaadm

sama' chang o dast afshan saghi

mi baghi bedeh ta mast o khushadl

be yaran barfashanm 'omr baghi

darunm khun shod az nadidn dust

ala ta'san leayyame alferaghe

domu'i ba'dakom la tahgheruha

fakam bahren 'amighen man sauaghe

dami ba nikkhuahan matafagh bash

ghanimt dan amur atfaghi

besaz ey motreb khushkhuan khushgu

be she'r farsi, sut 'raghi

'rusi bas khushi ey dakhatar raz

vali ge ge sazauar talaghi

masihai majarad ra barazd

ke ba khorshid sazd ham-vosaghi

vesal dustan ruzi ma nist

bekhaan hafez ghazal-hai faraghi
