Ghazal 364
غزل شمارهٔ ۳۶۴
7 couplets
ما بیغمانِ مست دل از دست دادهایم
همرازِ عشق و همنفسِ جامِ بادهایم
بر ما بسی کمانِ ملامت کشیدهاند
تا کارِ خود ز ابرویِ جانان گشادهایم
ای گُل تو دوش داغِ صَبوحی کشیدهای
ما آن شقایقیم که با داغ زادهایم
پیرِ مُغان ز توبهٔ ما گر ملول شد
گو باده صاف کن که به عذر ایستادهایم
کار از تو میرود، مددی ای دلیلِ راه
کانصاف میدهیم و ز راه اوفتادهایم
چون لاله، مِی مبین و قَدَح در میانِ کار
این داغ بین که بر دلِ خونین نهادهایم
گفتی که «حافظ این همه رنگ و خیال چیست؟!»
نقشِ غلط مَبین که همان لوحِ سادهایم
O Sufi (outwardly pure, inwardly impure)! come
for bright is the mirror of the cup (the heart of the perfect murshid): That thou mayest see the brightness of the wine of ruby hue (or experience the intoxication of the wine of the love of God).
The Anka (God's pure existence) is the prey of none. Up-pluck thy snare •-
For, here ever, in the hand of the snare, is (only) wind (vain thought).
(Whilst thou art in the world) strive in the pleasure (of zikr va filer) of the present. As, when no water remained, " Adam let go the garden of the house of safety (Paradise)." At time's banquet, enjoy one or two cups (moments of union with the true Be- loved)
and go (to eternity): (Here) verily desire not perpetual union (for 'tis vain).
All lovers have passed their time in consuming and burning; and gained not the jewel of their desire. Without
essence (zat) was what they beheld; yet in their knowledge they regard- ed it as the essence of essence.

ham-raz 'eshgh o ham-nafas jam bade-aim
bar ma basi kaman malamt kashide-and
ta kar khod ze abruy janan gashade-aim
ey gol to dush daghe sabuhi kashide-ey
ma an shaghaighim ke ba dagh zade-aim
pir moghan ze tobe ma gar malul shod
gu bade saf kon ke be 'zar aistade-aim
kar az to mi-ravad, maddi ey dalile rah
kansaf mi-dahim o ze rah auftade-aim
chon lale, mi mabin o ghadah dar miyan kar
in dagh bin ke bar del khunin nahade-aim
gafti ke hafez in hame rang o khiyal chist?!
naghsh ghalat mabin ke haman luhe sade-aim
