Ghazal 349

دوش سودایِ رُخَش گفتم ز سر بیرون کُنَم

گفت کو زنجیر؟ تا تدبیرِ این مجنون کُنَم

قامتش را سرو گفتم، سر کشید از من به خشم

دوستان از راست می‌رَنجَد نِگارم، چون کنم؟

نکته ناسنجیده گفتم دلبرا معذور دار

عشوه‌ای فرمای تا من طبع را موزون کنم

زردرویی می‌کَشَم زان طبعِ نازک، بی‌گناه

ساقیا جامی بده تا چهره را گُلگون کنم

ای نسیمِ منزلِ لیلی خدا را تا به کی

رَبع را برهم زنم، اَطلال را جیحون کنم

من که رَه بُردم به گنجِ حُسنِ بی‌پایان دوست

صد گدایِ همچو خود را بعد از این قارون کنم

ای مَهِ صاحب قران، از بنده حافظ یاد کن

تا دعایِ دولتِ آن حُسنِ روزافزون کنم

Last night, I said: — " Out from my head, the passion for His face I will put." He (the true Beloved) said:

— " The chain where, that the arrangement (of bind- ing) this distraught one, I may make ?" His stature, I called the (straight, free) cypress.

In anger, his head from me, He drew back: O friends! with the truth, my idol grieveth. What shall I do ? O heart-ravisher! an un-weighed subtlety, I uttered: excuse me

Graciousness show that my thought weighed in verse I may make.

For that nature, tender, sinless, I endure yellow (shame-) facedness, O Sakl! a

cup give, that my face rose of hue • I may make. 5.

O breeze of Laila's dwelling! for God's sake, how long— The fourth (inhabited) part of the world shall I over- turn

(and) the palace- ruins (the waste-places), the river Jaihun shall I make?

I, who took the path to the treasure (of mysteries) of boundless beauty of the Friend,

After this, a hundred beggars like myself, (rich as) KarQn (with divine know- ledge) I make.

O moon, Lady of felicity! thy slave Hafiz, remember, So that,

for the fortune of that beauty daily increasing, prayer, 1 may make.

dustan az rast mi-ranjad negarm, chon konam?

nokte nasanjide goftam dalabra m'zur dar

'eshve-ey farmai ta man tab' ra muzun konam

zaradruii mi-kesham zan tab' nazk, bi-gonah

saghiya jami bedeh ta chehre ra golgun konam

ey nasim manzel lili khoda ra ta be key

rab' ra baraham zanam, atlal ra jihun konam

man ke rah boradm be ganj hosn bi-paian dust

sad gadaye hamcho khod ra ba'd az in gharun konam

ey mah saheb gharan, az bande hafez yad kon

ta do'aye dolat an hosn ruzafzun konam
