Ghazal 321

هر چند پیر و خسته‌دل و ناتوان شدم

هر گَه که یادِ رویِ تو کردم جوان شدم

شکرِ خدا که هر چه طلب کردم از خدا

بر مُنتهایِ همتِ خود کامران شدم

ای گُلبُن جوان! بَرِ دولت بخور که من

در سایهٔ تو بلبلِ باغِ جهان شدم

اول ز تحت و فوقِ وجودم خبر نبود

در مکتبِ غمِ تو، چُنین نکته‌دان شدم

قسمت حوالتم به خرابات می‌کند

هر چند کاینچنین شدم و آنچنان شدم

آن روز بر دلم درِ معنی گشوده شد

کز ساکنانِ درگهِ پیرِ مغان شدم

در شاه‌راهِ دولتِ سرمد به تختِ بخت

با جامِ مِی به کامِ دلِ دوستان شدم

از آن زمان که فتنهٔ چشمت به من رسید

ایمن ز شرِّ فتنهٔ آخرزمان شدم

من پیرِ سال و ماه نیَم، عمر بی‌وفاست

از من چو عمر می‌گذرد پیر از آن شدم

دوشم نوید داد عنایت که حافظا

بازآ که من به عفوِ گناهت ضمان شدم

From the heart-desiring ruby (lip of the true Beloved) ever is my ease

(And) my work to desire, al hamdu-1-illah! O obstinate fortune!

Him, to thy bosom, tightly draw; Drink, sometimes, the cup of gold; sometimes,

the heart-desiring ruby (lip). Us, in intoxication, tales told, The ignorant Pirs and road-lost Shaikhs.

Of the zahid's word, we repented

And of the 'abid's deed, we seek the pardon of God. 5. O soul! the explanation of separation, how shall I utter?

(Together are: —) An eye and a hundred humidities (tears); a (stricken) soul and a hundred sighs. Let not the

Kafir see (experience) this grief that hath seen (experienced), The cypress from thy (lofty) stature; and the moon from thy (luminous) cheek.

Than the lover's patience, naught is more pleasant; From God, ask patience; patience ask from God. The patched

garment is the zunnar (the mystic cord) of the path (of tankat), Sufi! this way and usage, cast down.

Once, by His face, pleasant was my time

On account of union with the Beloved, a hundred lauhash allah!

shokr khoda ke har che talab kardam az khoda

bar monathaye hemmat khod kamran shodam

ey golbon javan! bar dolat bakhur ke man

dar saye to bolbol bagh jahan shodam

avval ze tahat o fughe vajudm khabar nabud

dar makatbe gham to, chenin nokte-dan shodam

ghesmat hualatm be kharabat mi-konad

har chand kainachnin shodam o anachnan shodam

an ruz bar delam dar ma'ni gashude shod

kaz saknane darghe pir moghan shodam

dar shah-rah dolat saramad be takhte bakht

ba jam mi be kam del dustan shodam

az an zaman ke fetne chashamat be man resid

aimn ze sharre fetne akharazman shodam

man pir sal o mah nayam, 'omr bi-vafast

az man cho 'omr mi-gazarad pir az an shodam

dushm nuid dad 'nait ke hafeza

baza ke man be 'fave ganaht zaman shodam
