بازآی ساقیا که هواخواهِ خدمتم

مشتاقِ بندگیّ و دعاگویِ دولتم

زان جا که فیضِ جامِ سعادت فروغِ توست

بیرون شدی نُمای ز ظلماتِ حیرتم

هرچند غرقِ بحرِ گناهم ز صد جهت

تا آشِنایِ عشق شدم ز اهل رحمتم

عیبم مکن به رندی و بدنامی ای حکیم

کاین بود سرنوشت ز دیوانِ قسمتم

مِی خور که عاشقی نه به کسب است و اختیار

این موهبت رسید ز میراثِ فطرتم

من کز وطن سفر نَگُزیدَم به عمرِ خویش

در عشقِ دیدن تو هواخواهِ غربتم

دریا و کوه در رَه و من خسته و ضعیف

ای خِضْرِ پِی خجسته مدد کن به همتم

دورم به صورت از درِ دولتسرایِ تو

لیکن به جان و دل ز مقیمانِ حضرتم

حافظ به پیشِ چشم تو خواهد سِپُرد جان

در این خیالم اَر بدهد عمر مهلتم

O Saki! me, youth's capital - bring. Cups of pure wine, one or

two, bring. The remedy of love's pain, that is wine, Is where ?

The remedy of the shaikh (the old) and of the youth,— • bring. The sun is the wine

and the moon, the cup: In the midst of the moon, the sun, - bring.

All obstinacy, displayeth reason: For its neck, the rope of wine (to drag out its obstinacy) - bring. 5. (O Saki

!) for this my fire (reason, world-kindling) dash a little water: That is: — That fire (of love) like water (wine), bring.

If the rose has departed, say: — " With joyousness, go:" The pure (ruddy)

wine like rose-water (be perfumed) bring. If the clamour of the nightingales remain not, - what grief?.

The guggling of the glass (long-necked) flagon of wine bring. Either right or wrong is (wine-) drinking

If it be wrong, or if right, - bring.

Grief for time that hath gone to the wind, suffer not

The twang of the stringed instrument, (the murshid) and of the lyre (the mur- shid), bring.

(O Saki!) save in sleep, union with Him (the true Beloved), one cannot see

The medicine that is the source of sleep (love for God that draweth the holy traveller from existence to non-existence) bring.

Intoxicated, though I am, three (or) four cups (of wine) more,

So that completely ruined (senseless) I may be, — — bring.

To Hafiz, heavy ritls, one or two, give

If it be sin, or if virtue, bring.

ta ashenaye 'eshgh shodam ze ahl rahamatam

'ibm makon be rendi o badnami ey hakim

ka'in bud sarnusht ze diuane ghasamatam

mi khor ke 'ashghi na be kasab ast o akhtiar

in muhabt resid ze mirase fataratam

man kaz vatn safar nagozidam be 'omr khish

dar 'eshgh didn to huakhuahe gharabatam

darya o kuh dar rah o man khaste o z'if

ey khezre pei khajaste madad kon be hamatam

durm be surt az dar dulatasraye to

liken be jan o del ze maghimane hazaratam

hafez be pish cheshm to khaahad sepord jan

dar in khialm ar badahad 'omr mahalatam
