Ghazal 304

دارایِ جهان نصرتِ دین خسروِ کامل

یَحیَی بنِ مُظَفَّر مَلِکِ عالمِ عادل

ای درگهِ اسلام پناهِ تو گشاده

بر رویِ زمین روزنهٔ جان و دَرِ دل

تعظیمِ تو بر جان و خِرَد واجب و لازم

اِنعام تو بر کون و مکان فایض و شامل

روزِ ازل از کِلکِ تو یک قطره سیاهی

بر رویِ مَه افتاد که شد حلِّ مسائل

خورشید چو آن خالِ سیَه دید، به دل گفت

ای کاج که من بودَمی آن هندویِ مقبل

شاها فلک از بزمِ تو در رقص و سَماع است

دستِ طَرَب از دامنِ این زمزمه مَگسِل

مِی نوش و جهان بخش که از زلفِ کمندت

شد گردنِ بدخواه گرفتار سَلاسِل

دورِ فلکی یکسَره بر مَنْهَجِ عدل است

خوش باش که ظالم نَبَرد راه به منزل

حافظ قلمِ شاه جهان مُقسِمِ رزق است

از بهرِ معیشت مَکُن اندیشهٔ باطل

O Khusrau! the ball of the sky in the curve of the chaugan-^— of thine be

The place of existence and of dwelling (the universe) the space of the plain of thine be!

All climes took up

and all quarters let loose, The renown of thy (excellent) disposition, which, ever protection of thine be!

The tress of the Lady of Victory is enamoured with thy standard-tassel

The eye of eternity without end, the lover of the galloping (of attack) of thine be!

O thou (that art such a one) that the writing of Mercury is the description of thy

pomp! Reason of all (Jibra.il) the tughra-writer of the book (of record) of thine be! 5.

Thy cypress-like stature became the shame of the splendour of the Tuba,

The envy of lofty paradise, the plain of the hall of thine be.

Not alone animals and vegetation and things inorganic

Whatever is in the world of order, under the order of thine be. With sincerity, shattered Hafiz became thy praise-utterer: Thy universal grace, the health-giver and the praise-utterer— of thine be.

ruz azal az kelk to yek ghatre siahi

khorshid cho an khal siyah did, be del goft

ey kaj ke man budami an handuye maghabal

shaha falak az bazme to dar raghas o sama' ast

dast tarab az daman in zamazme magsel

mi nush o jahan bakhsh ke az zolf kamanadat

shod garadne badkhuae garaftar salasel

dowr falki yaksare bar manhaje 'dal ast

khosh bash ke zalm nabard rah be manzel

hafez ghalme shah jahan moghseme razagh ast
