Ghazal 293

بامدادان که ز خلوتگَهِ کاخِ اِبداع

شمعِ خاور فِکَنَد بر همه اطراف شُعاع

بَرکَشَد آینه از جِیبِ افق چرخ و در آن

بنماید رخِ گیتی به هزاران انواع

در زوایایِ طَرَبخانهٔ جمشیدِ فلک

اَرغَنون ساز کُنَد زهره به آهنگِ سَماع

چنگ در غُلغُله آید که کجا شد منکر؟

جام در قَهقَهه آید که کجا شد مَنّاع؟

وضعِ دوران بنگر ساغرِ عِشرت بَر گیر

که به هر حالتی این است بِهینِ اوضاع

طُرِّهٔ شاهدِ دنیی همه بند است و فریب

عارفان بر سرِ این رشته نجویند نِزاع

عمرِ خسرو طلب ار نفعِ جهان می‌خواهی

که وجودیست عطابخشِ کریمِ نَفّاع

مَظهَرِ لطفِ ازل، روشنی چشمِ اَمَل

جامعِ علم و عمل جانِ جهان، شاه شجاع

Who is not fallen into that doubled tress is none

In whose path is it, that a snare of calamity is none ? Perchance, thy face is the mirror of divine light: O God!

(I swear) that thus it is

and, in this, dissimulation and hypocrisy—- is none. The Zahid giveth me repentance of thy face.

O Excellent face! His (the Zahid's), any shame of God; and shame of thy face is none. O candle of the morning! weep at the state of mine and of thine

For this hidden burning, thine is none; and mine—— is none. 5.

Witness is God; and God as witness is sufficient

For less than the shedding of blood of martyrs, this (bloody) weeping, is none.

The narcissus seeketh the way of thy eye, O excellent eye! To the wretched (narcissus), news of its mystery

and, in its eye, light is none.

For God's sake, adorn not thy tress; for ours, Is no night when, with the morning wind, many a

conflict is none. Last night, He went; and I said:— " O idol! fulfil Thy covenant: "

barkashad ayene az jeibe afgh charkh o dar an

banmaid rokh giti be hazaran anua'

dar zuaiaye tarabkhan-ye jamshide falak

arghanun saz konad zhare be ahang sama'

chang dar gholghole ayad ke koja shod manakar?

jam dar ghahghahe ayad ke koja shod manna'?

vaz'e duran banagar saghar 'eshart bar gir

ke be har halti in ast behine auza'

torre shahed danii hame band ast o farib

'arfan bar sar in rashte najuind neza'

'omr khasru talab ar naf'e jahan mi-khaahi

ke vajudist 'tabakhshe karime naffa'

mazhare lotf azal, rushni cheshm amal

jam'e 'elm o 'amal jan jahan, shah shaja'
