Ghazal 288

کنارِ آب و پایِ بید و طبعِ شعر و یاری خوش

معاشر دلبری شیرین و ساقی گُلعِذاری خوش

الا ای دولتی طالع، که قدرِ وقت می‌دانی

گوارا بادَت این عِشرت که داری روزگاری خوش

هر آن کس را که در خاطر ز عشقِ دلبری باریست

سِپندی گو بر آتش نِه، که دارد کار و باری خوش

عروسِ طَبع را زیور ز فکرِ بِکر می‌بندم

بُوَد کز دستِ ایّامَم به دست اُفتَد نگاری خوش

شبِ صحبت غنیمت دان و دادِ خوشدلی بِسْتان

که مهتابی دل افروز است و طَرْفِ لاله زاری خوش

مِیی در کاسهٔ چشم است ساقی را بِنامیزد

که مستی می‌کند با عقل و می‌بخشد خُماری خوش

به غفلت عمر شُد حافظ، بیا با ما به میخانه

که شنگولانِ خوش باشت، بیاموزند کاری خوش

Sufi! a beautiful rose pluck

and to the thorn the patched religious garment, give For pleasant tasting wine, this thy dry austerity,^— give- In the path of the harp's melody, put aside idle talk and fraud For wine and wine-drinking, the rosary and the darvish -mantle give.

Excessive austerity that the lovely one and the zahid purchase

not, In the sward's ring (time), to spring's fragrant breeze, give.

O chief of lovers! my path, ruby wine attacked: In the pit of the beloved's chin, my blood give. 5.

O Lord! in the rose-season, pardon the slave's sin: To the cypress of the bank of the stream, this tale give.

O thou that hast travelled to the drinking place of thy desire! From this sea (of desire), me dusty, a drop give.

In thanks that the form of idols thy eye beheld not, To us, by the pardon and the favour of the Lord, work give.

In God's name! in the cup of the Saki's eye, is wine That giveth intoxication with reason

and bringeth about a wine-sickness, happy ?

Hafiz! in carelessness, went thy life: with us, to the wine-house (the stage of love and of divine

knowledge), come: So that the intoxicated lovely ones (perfect Arifs, and the excellent murshid) will teach thee, a work, happy.

bud kaz dast ayyamam be dast oftad nagari khosh

shab sohbat ghanimt dan o dad khushadli bestan

ke mahtabi del afruz ast o taraf lale zari khosh

meii dar kas-ye cheshm ast saghi ra benamizd

ke masti mi-konad ba aghl o mi-bakhashad khomari khosh

be ghafalat 'omr shod hafez, biya ba ma be meykhane

ke shangulane khosh basht, biamuzand kari khosh
