Ghazal 280
غزل شمارهٔ ۲۸۰
7 couplets
چو بر شکست صبا زلفِ عنبرافشانش
به هر شکسته که پیوست، تازه شد جانش
کجاست همنفسی؟ تا به شرح عرضه دَهَم
که دل چه میکشد از روزگارِ هجرانش
زمانه از ورقِ گُل، مثالِ رویِ تو بست
ولی ز شرمِ تو در غنچه کرد پنهانش
تو خفتهای و نشد عشق را کرانه پدید
تبارک الله از این رَه که نیست پایانش
جمالِ کعبه مگر عذرِ رهروان خواهد؟
که جانِ زندهدلان سوخت در بیابانش
بدین شکستهٔ بیت الحزن که میآرد
نشان یوسفِ دل از چَهِ زَنَخدانَش؟
بگیرم آن سرِ زلف و به دستِ خواجه دهم
که سوخت حافظِ بیدل ز مکر و دستانش
With a single hair (delight) of its, a thousand hearts, the tress (the world) • bound (kept back from
truth and thought of the future world), The path of a thousand remedies (men of learning and of heart) bound.
So that all may give their soul to the perfume of the great breeze, He opened the musk-pod
and, the door of desire bound.
Distraught, I became on that account that, my Beloved, like the (crescent)
new moon His eye-brow, displayed;.gracefully moved; and His face bound.
The Saki (Fate) poured, into the cup (the traveller's heart), the wine (of love) of many colours
These pictures (of creation and of glories of God), behold how beautifully in the wine-vessel (the traveller's heart), he bound.
The sage, who regarded this magic-playing sphere (void of permanency and of constancy), Folded up (closed) his own assembly (of magicians)
and the door of speech. bound.
Hafiz! who practised not love
and union (with God) desired Without (necessary) ablution, the ihram of the tawf of the Ka'ba, bound.
The impropriety of mirth on hearing a pleasant sound is not because it is a pleasant sound. If so, the listening to modulated metrical utterances of God's word;
to the traditions of His Pro- phet; to the words of pious men; to men of fine voice; and to nightingales would be unlaw- ful.
cho bar shekast saba zolf 'nabrafshansh
be har shekaste ke piust, taze shod jansh
kojast hamanafsi? ta be sharah 'raze daham
ke del che mi-kashad az ruzegar hajransh
zamane az varghe gol, masale ruy to basat
vali ze sharme to dar ghonche kard panhansh
to khafte-ey o nashod 'eshgh ra karane padid
tabark allah az in rah ke nist paiansh
jamal k'be magar 'zare rahruan khaahad?
ke jan zende-dalan sukht dar biabansh
bedin shekaste bit alahazn ke mi-arad
neshan yausfe del az che zanakhdanash?

ke sukht hafez bi-del ze makar o dastansh
