Ghazal 266

دلم رمیدهٔ لولی‌وَشیست شورانگیز

دروغ‌وَعده و قَتّال‌وَضع و رنگ‌آمیز

فدایِ پیرهنِ چاکِ ماهرویان باد

هزار جامهٔ تقوی و خرقهٔ پرهیز

خیالِ خالِ تو با خود به خاک خواهم برد

که تا ز خالِ تو خاکم شود عَبیرآمیز

فرشته عشق نداند که چیست، ای ساقی

بِخواه جام و گلابی به خاکِ آدم ریز

پیاله بر کفنم بند، تا سحرگهِ حَشر

به مِی ز دل بِبَرَم هولِ روزِ رستاخیز

فقیر و خسته به درگاهت آمدم رحمی

که جز وِلایِ تواَم نیستْ هیچْ دست آویز

بیا که هاتفِ میخانه دوش با من گفت

که در مَقامِ رضا باش و از قَضا مَگریز

میانِ عاشق و معشوق هیچ حائل نیست

تو خود حجابِ خودی حافظ از میان برخیز

(On the day of eternity without beginning), with the luminous liquid of wine (of love and of divine knowledge), an

Arif purification (of his heart from every pollution) made, Early in the morning when, to the wine-house, visit he1 made.

As soon as the golden cup of the sun became hidden, Hint at the circulation of the

cup, the new crescent moon of the 'Id (the mani- festations of the glories of existence) made.

With soul, from the curl of His tress, my heart purchased tumult

I know not what profit experienced he who this barter^— made.

The Imam, a khwaja, whose desire was long prayers, In the blood of

the daughter of the grape (wine), cleansing of the religious garment made. 1.

Not to-day, to the Seekers of God, did love appear.

Nay, from eternity without beginning, this lot (of love) was theirs.

On that day, the Sakis (Fate and (Destiny) poured cups of this wine into the JVrifs

and, upon them, scattered musk, ambergris, and camphor.

Now, love hath come, to splendour

for, at this stage, the lover hath travelled the Path.

Come to the wine-house (the world of love and of omnipotence)

and behold my station near to the rank (of the true Beloved), Although, at us (in the world), his glance with contempt, the Zahid made.

delam ramid-ye luli-vashist shurangiz

darugh-va'de o ghattal-vaz' o rang-amiz

fadaye pirahne chake mahruian bad

hezar jam-ye taghui o kherghe parhiz

khiyal khal to ba khod be khak khaaham bord

ke ta ze khal to khakm shavad 'abiramiz

farashte 'eshgh nadand ke chist, ey saghi

bekhuae jam o galabi be khak adm riz

piyale bar kafanam band, ta sharghe hashr

be mi ze del bebaram hule ruz rastakhiz

faghir o khaste be dargaht amadam rahmi

ke joz velaye tavam nist hich dast auiz

biya ke hatfe meykhane dush ba man goft

ke dar maghame raza bash o az ghaza magriz

miyan 'ashegh o ma'shugh hich ha'el nist

to khod hajabe khudi hafez az miyan barkhiz
