Ghazal 260
غزل شمارهٔ ۲۶۰
9 couplets
ای سروِ نازِ حُسن که خوش میروی به ناز
عُشّاق را به نازِ تو هر لحظه صد نیاز
فرخنده باد طلعتِ خوبت که در ازل
بُبْریدهاند بر قدِ سَرْوَت قبایِ ناز
آن را که بویِ عَنبر زلفِ تو آرزوست
چون عود گو بر آتشِ سودا بسوز و ساز
پروانه را ز شمع بُوَد سوزِ دل، ولی
بی شمعِ عارضِ تو دلم را بُوَد گداز
صوفی که بی تو توبه ز مِی کرده بود، دوش
بِشْکَست عهد، چون درِ میخانه دید باز
از طعنهٔ رقیب نگردد عیارِ من
چون زر اگر برَند مرا درِ دهانِ گاز
دل کز طوافِ کعبهٔ کویت وقوف یافت
از شوقِ آن حریم ندارد سرِ حجاز
هر دَم به خونِ دیده چه حاجت وضو؟ چو نیست
بی طاقِ ابروی تو، نمازِ مرا جواز
چون باده باز بر سرِ خُم رفت کفزنان
حافظ که دوش از لبِ ساقی شنید راز
From desire (of the beloved), I restrain not my hand until my desire^— cometh forth: Either to the beloved, my body reacheth
or, from the body, my soul >- cometh forth.
Every moment, one cannot, like the unfaithful ones, take another beloved
Together, are we and the dust of His street, until from the body, the soul cometh forth.
The soul is on the lip (ready to depart), and vexation in the heart. For,
from this mouth, Not a single desire taken, from the body, the soul—— cometh forth.
From regret for His mouth, to straits cometh my soul
From that mouth, the self-desire of those short of hand, how cometh forth ? 5.
(O beloved!) after my death, open my tomb; and behold From the fire of my heart, smoke from the shroud cometh forth. Arise
! since, — on account of thy stature and standing, of the sward, Into the bosom, the cypress cometh; and the pomegranate cometh forth.
In the hope that, into the garden, a beautiful rose like thy face may come, The breeze cometh
and momently, around the sward—— cometh forth.
Show thy (lovely) face, — a whole people go lamenting and wailing (in love for thee)
Open thy lip (to speak),— from man and woman, cry-^— cometh forth.
Fifty barbed hooks, hath every coil of thy tress: In that coil, this shattered heart, how cometh forth ? 10. To myself, I spake saying: —
" From him (the belove'd), up-pluck thy heart:" My heart said: — " This is the work of that one, who with himself (victorious)—— cometh forth." i.
" Reacheth." See Ode 262, c. 5. In the crowd of love-players, they make mention for his
good: Wherever, in the assembly, Hafiz's name cometh forth. II. The first line may be: —
ey sarv naz hosn ke khosh mi-ruy be naz
'oshshagh ra be naz to har lahze sad niaz
farakhande bad tal'te khubt ke dar azal
bobride-and bar ghad sarvat ghabaye naz
an ra ke buy 'anabr zolf to arzust
chon 'ud gu bar atash suda basuz o saz
parvane ra ze sham' bud suz del, vali
bi sham' 'arze to delam ra bud gadaz
sufi ke bi to tobe ze mi karde bud, dush
beshkast ahd, chon dar meykhane did baz
az t'n-ye raghib nagaradad 'iare man
chon zar agar barand mara dar dahan gaz
del kaz tuafe k'b-ye kuit vaghuf yaaft
az showgh an harim nadarad sar hajaz
har dam be khun dide che hajat vazu? cho nist
bi taghe abruy to, namaz mara juaz
chon bade baz bar sar khom raft kaf-zanan
