Ghazal 242

بیا که رایتِ منصورِ پادشاه رسید

نویدِ فتح و بشارت به مِهر و ماه رسید

جمالِ بخت ز رویِ ظفر نقاب انداخت

کمالِ عدل به فریادِ دادخواه رسید

سپهر، دور خوش اکنون کُنَد که ماه آمد

جهان به کامِ دل اکنون رسد که شاه رسید

ز قاطعانِ طریق این زمان شوند ایمن

قوافلِ دل و دانش که مَرد راه رسید

عزیزِ مصر به رغمِ برادران غیور

ز قعرِ چاه برآمد به اوجِ ماه رسید

کجاست صوفیِ دَجّال فِعلِ مُلحِدشکل

بگو بسوز، که مهدیِّ دین پناه رسید

صبا بگو که چه‌ها بر سرم در این غمِ عشق

ز آتشِ دلِ سوزان و دودِ آه رسید

ز شوقِ رویِ تو شاها بدین اسیرِ فراق

همان رسید کز آتش به برگِ کاه رسید

مرو به خواب که حافظ به بارگاهِ قبول

ز وِردِ نیمْ شب و درسِ صبحگاه رسید

From me, tranquillity, power, and sense took, The idol of stony heart, of silvern lobe (of ear). A picture,

a beauty, an amorously playful one, Pan-like, A subtle one, a moon-like one, a bold one, kaba-wearer (gaily arrayed).

From the torment of the fire of love's phrenzy for her, Ever, tumult, I express like the (seething) caldron. Tranquil

of heart, like the (close-fitting) garment I should be If, her into my embrace, like the kaba, I take. 5.

At her tyranny, I grieve not. For, without the thorn, The rose, none obtaineth

without the sting, the honey. If rotten become my bone (skeleton), Forgotten becometh not, from my soul, the love for her.

My heart and faith! my heart and faith! have ravished

Her breast and shoulder, her breast and shoulder, her breast and shoulder!

Hafiz! Thy remedy, thy remedy is — Her

sweet lip, her sweet lip, her sweet lip!
