Ghazal 162

خوش آمد گُل وز آن خوش‌تر نباشد

که در دستت به جز ساغر نباشد

زمانِ خوش‌دلی دریاب و دُر یاب

که دایم در صدف گوهر نباشد

غنیمت دان و مِی خور در گلستان

که گُل تا هفتهٔ دیگر نباشد

ایا پُرلعل کرده جامِ زَرّین

ببخشا بر کسی کش زر نباشد

بیا ای شیخ و از خُم‌خانهٔ ما

شرابی خور که در کوثر نباشد

بشوی اوراق اگر هم‌درسِ مایی

که عِلمِ عشق در دفتر نباشد

ز من بنیوش و دل در شاهدی بند

که حُسنش بستهٔ زیور نباشد

شرابی بی‌خمارم بخش یا رب

که با وی هیچ دردِ سر نباشد

من از جان بندهٔ سلطان اویسم

اگر چه یادش از چاکر نباشد

به تاجِ عالم آرایش که خورشید

چنین زیبندهٔ افسر نباشد

کسی گیرد خطا بر نظمِ حافظ

که هیچش لطف در گوهر نباشد

The 'fd, it is; and the season of the rose. Saki! wine, bring

In rose-season, the cup without wine, who hath seen-— placed ?

Of this (hypocritical) austerity and (dry) piety, contracted is my heart

Saki! a little wine give, so that my heart may be expanded.

The Sufi, who, yesterday, counselled the prayer of lovers

To-day, him, intoxicated I saw, to the wind, piety given. These one, or two, days, more, the (season of the) rose regard a gain: If a lover thou be, joy seek with Sakis, face— smoothed. 5.

O companions! departed hath the rose, why sit ye careless ? Without the sound of the stringed instrument, and the harp

and without the Beloved and the cup of wine.

Thou knowest — in the assembly of the morning cup how happy

appeareth, The reflection of the Saki's cheek in the cup (of wine) fallen.

When the minstrel maketh the note, if it be possible he will sing

Of the elegance of Hafiz's verse at the banquet of pne prince born.

biya ey sheykh o az khom-khane ma

sharabi khor ke dar kusr nabashad

bashui auragh agar ham-darse maii

ke 'elm 'eshgh dar dafatar nabashad

ze man baniush o del dar shahdi band

ke hosansh baste ziur nabashad

sharabi bi-khamarm bakhsh ya rab

ke ba vai hich dard sar nabashad

man az jan bande soltan auism

agar che yaadsh az chakr nabashad

be taje 'alam araish ke khorshid

chenin zibanad-ye afasr nabashad

kasi girad khata bar nazme hafez

ke hichsh lotf dar gohar nabashad
