Ghazal 161

کِی شعر تر انگیزد خاطر که حزین باشد

یک نکته از این معنی گفتیم و همین باشد

از لعلِ تو گر یابم انگشتریِ زنهار

صد مُلکِ سلیمانم در زیرِ نگین باشد

غمناک نباید بود از طعنِ حسود ای دل

شاید که چو وابینی خیرِ تو در این باشد

هر کاو نَکُنَد فهمی زین کِلکِ خیال‌انگیز

نقشش به حرام اَر خود صورتگر چین باشد

جامِ می و خونِ دل هر یک به کسی دادند

در دایرهٔ قسمت اوضاع چنین باشد

در کارِ گلاب و گل حکمِ ازلی این بود

کاین شاهدِ بازاری وان پرده‌نشین باشد

آن نیست که حافظ را رِندی بِشُد از خاطر

کاین سابقهٔ پیشین تا روزِ پَسین باشد

(O true Beloved!) when, into the mirror of the cup (of love), the reflection of Thy face

fell, From the laughter of wine (love's glory), into the crude desire of (drinking) the cup, the Arif fell.

With that splendour that, in the mirror (of the ruby), the beauty of Thy face

made, All this picture (of created beings that are illusory) into the mirror of fancy fell.

When, like the compass, for the sake of revolution, he moveth not,

what may he do Who in the circle of time's revolution fell ?

yek nokte az in ma'ni gaftim o hamin bashad

az la'l to gar yaabm anagashatarye zanhar

sad molk salimanm dar zir nagin bashad

ghamnak nabaid bud az t'ne hasud ey del

shaid ke cho vaabini khire to dar in bashad

har kau nakonad fahmi zin kelk khiyal-angiz

naghashash be haram ar khod suratagr chin bashad

jam mi o khun del har yek be kasi dadand

dar dair-ye ghesmat auza' chenin bashad

dar kar galab o gol hokm azli in bud

ka'in shahed bazari vaan parde-neshin bashad

an nist ke hafez ra rendi beshod az khater

ka'in sabagh-ye pishin ta ruz pasin bashad
