Ghazal 134

بلبلی خونِ دلی خورد و گلی حاصل کرد

بادِ غیرت به صدش خار، پریشان‌دل کرد

طوطیی را به خیالِ شکری، دل‌خوش بود

ناگَهَش سیلِ فنا نقشِ اَمَل، باطل کرد

قُرَّةُ الْعینِ من، آن میوهٔ دل، یادش باد

که چه آسان بشد و کارِ مرا مشکل کرد

ساروان! بارِ من افتاد، خدا را مددی

که امیدِ کَرَمَم همرهِ این مَحمِل کرد

رویِ خاکی و نمِ چشمِ مرا خوار مدار

چرخ فیروزه، طرب‌خانه از این کَهگِل کرد

آه و فریاد که از چشمِ حسودِ مهِ چرخ

در لحد، ماهِ کمان‌ابرویِ من منزل کرد

نزدی شاه‌رخ و فوت شد امکان حافظ

چه کنم؟ بازی ایام مرا غافل کرد

O just one! the draught-drinker of thy cup the sky^— be!

Immersed in blood, like the streaked tulip, thy enemy of black heart be!

With excess of exaltation is the summit of the gallery of thy rank,

For the wayfarers of imagination, the path of a thousand years be!

Thy tress full of coil is the eye and the lamp of the world

From the breeze of thy fortune, in the coil of thy ringlet, the soul be, O moon of the sphere of justice! the eye and the lamp of a whole world!

The pure wine in the cup, and the goblet, ever thine be! 5. Of the lip of the tray of thy grandeur, the simplest bits • be.

The confidant of thy praise became the daughter of my virgin thought (lustrous verse)

To thy hand, the dowry of a bride like this consigned •— be. / In this ghazal, thy Hafiz gave the argument of service to thee, Witness of this contract (of service), thy kindness, slave-cherishing be.
